49-year-old Ellie Nesler, who drew national attention to Tuolumne County several years ago, has been
Jailed in Sonora on a drug manufacturing charge.
Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Lt. John Steely says Nesler was stopped in her vehicle at Main street and
Highway 108 in Jamestown last evening. Investigators say she had solicited materials used to make methamphetimine from undercover agents. During a search
of her Shaws Flat Road residence, officers took a second person into custody on a Calaveras County Warrant. Nesler is being held under a half million dollars
She was released from prison after serving several years for the courtroom shooting death of a man accused of raping her son. A TV movie a few
years ago depicted that case.
