The CDF and the US Forest Service have been fighting a series of small fires caused by Monday night´s
lightning storm. So far, the Forest Service has over 100 firefighters covering two counties, fighting 16 fires. All are under 1/3 of an acre in size.
At the
same time, the CDF has contained 10 small blazes from Calaveras to Mariposa Counties. No structures are threatened right now but officials stress that
smoldering fires caused by the lightning, could grow bigger over the next few days.
