Fire Information
Darby fire information for residents in areas surrounding the fire will be posted on a regular basis. Bulletin
boards are being located along the Highway 108 corridor, and along Highway 4 in Calaveras County.
The Forest service has closed a 39 square mile
area around the Darby fire to the public, until further notice, because of the potential for a major, explosive fire in the timber. Local residents will need
identification to get in and out. A map showing the specific areas of the closure can be seen at Forest Service offices in Sonora, Mi-Wuk Village, Pinecrest,
Groveland or Hathaway Pines.
The CDF fire information lines will now be staffed between 6:00 a.m. and midnight each day. The numbers
are:
754-2739
754-4692, and
754-5773
