U-S Forest Service crews are continuing to close the loop on the “White” fire in the Stanislaus National
Forest. The 185 acre blaze in a stand of timber and brush is expected to be out by 6:00 tonight.
The Forest service has extended fire restrictions to
elevations up to 7,000 feet in the Groveland, Mi-Wuk, Summit and Calaveras Ranger districts of the Stanislaus National Forest. That means no campfires, no
smoking, no welding of heavy equipment, and no explosive use, except by specific permit.
