California State Budget Passed

California lawmakers have passed a state budget, three weeks late. The state Senate approved a 101 (B)
billion-dollar spending plan this morning after marathon discussions. It includes 80 (M) million dollars in tax breaks for farmers and tens of (M) millions in new
school funding. The Senate vote ends a partisan stalemate that held up the budget for 21 days and halted paychecks for some state employees. The Assembly
passed the budget last week, and Governor Gray Davis has said he will sign the spending plan.
