Several residents gathered behind the library on Greenley Road Friday, for the opening of the new
Tuolumne County archive facility.
The facility is named after longtime Tuolumne resident Carlo De Ferrari, known for being the premier archivist and
historian in the Motherlode.
De Ferrari says this new facility will be controlled-climate wise and more-to be sure historical documents are well kept and
protected for people to view them anytime.
Previous locations for archives often left important documents lost or damaged in some way.
