Tuolumne County Deputies have recovered the body of a social service agency officer after a morning-long
search near the Parrotts Ferry Bridge at the Calaveras County line.

49 year old Cynthia Lou Stephens was director of Mountain Women´s Resource
Center on Stewart Street in Sonora. Lt. John Steely says an autopsy will be performed, and investigators are continuing to examine her car, which was found
abandoned near the bridge last night.

Stephens´ body was found in a cove east of the bridge shortly before 10:30. Her car was found with the lights on,
a door open and the engine turned off just before 9:30 last night.
