They´re Calling It Possible Arson

Sponsored by:

Arson is suspected in the late night fire that destroyed an outbuilding and a vehicle at the Tuolumne County Department of Social Services Sunday.

Fire crews arrived at the Welfare office on Cedar Road North just before Midnight Sunday night.

County fire spokeswoman Deb Fish says the fire is suspicious in nature and fire officials are looking for anyone who might have seen what happened. “There are apartments real close,” Fish said. “We´re hoping somebody saw something.”

Fire officials are asking anyone with information about the fire to contact Fire Chief Richard Imlach at 532-0821.

Fish says damage is estimated to be about $30,000 to the building, its contents and the 2 year-old pick-up truck.
