Fire investigators continue to dig for clues into the cause if the spectacular fire that destroyed the main building of the Twain Harte Inn Tuesday.
Twain Harte Fire Protection District Chief Bob Kempvanee is leading the investigation.
“The fire investigation unit spent most of yesterday digging through the rubble. One particular place we wanted to get to that we couldn´t because of the stability of the building, so we pulled part of it down to stabilize that part,” he said
Will any answers come from fire investigators this week? Kempvanee says no.
“It´s not going to be done this week. I can tell you that for sure. It´s going to be a bit.”
Kempvanee says he´s aware of all the rumors flying around town, about who started the fire or whether or not the fire is arson.
He said fire officials – working through the District Attorney´s office – are conducting interviews with witnesses as well as sifting through the rubble.
“They´re still digging around in there, and there´s no resolve to it yet,” Kempvanee explained. “They are still doing the cause and origin determination.”
