Christmas may be coming early for skiers in the Sierra Nevada. Weather forecasters say there´s potential for a big dump of snow on the top of the mountains this weekend.
Climatologist Bill Mork says anywhere from six to eight feet could fall between Friday night and Tuesday at ski resorts around Lake Tahoe and Donner Pass.
The National Weather Service in Reno confirms the forecast is for fairly heavy precipitation through the weekend.
Several inches of snow fell in parts of the Sierra yesterday. It was the areas first significant snowfall since a storm dropped as much as five feet in early November.
