Why Man Turned-Up Missing Still A Mystery

Sponsored by:

A Santa Cruz area man who vanished Wednesday has been found alive and well in the Emigrant Wilderness in Tuolumne County.

The circumstances surrounding Marshall Doud´s disappearance remain a mystery today. Doud disappeared from his job at Seagate Technologies — a few hours before he was to meet his 10-year-old daughter to go surfing. The girl and her twin brother turned 11 years-old Saturday.

Yesterday – Doud´s pickup truck was found near a wilderness trail. That triggered a search, which found Doud after about half an hour. He appeared to be in good health. When Doud failed to come home, family and friends feared he had been in an accident. Back roads between his home and Seagate were checked. The search moved into the Sierra when officials learned his credit card had been used to purchase camping gear and maps of the Emigrant Pass and Yosemite areas.
