A San Mateo County family has donated 462 acres of land near Half Moon Bay to the Peninsula Open Space Trust. The trust says the land was recently appraised at $3.6 million dollars. It borders El Granada and includes coastal ridges and a eucalyptus forest.
Construction company owner Mike O’Neill bought the land eight years ago. He says he donated the land to ensure it wouldn’t be developed. The Peninsula Open Space Trust was founded in 1977. It´s a private, nonprofit land trust dedicated to preserving the peninsula’s natural resources.
