The Sourgrass Complex fire is now 40 percent contained, but continues to burn in Calaveras County.
Fire Command center Annette Roestler said the fire has potential to threaten the communities of Dorrington and Arnold. “There´s no evacuations imminent, but there is a potential future threat that they are keeping an eye on,” Roestler said.
So far the fires have blackened 550 acres and has cost $291,000 to fight.
The fires are on Sierra Pacific Industries land. Burning logging slash piles got out of control Monday in the high winds. Full containment is still expected for Thursday at 6 p.m.
