British Travel Show Highlights Mother Lode Charm
Nancy Sykes just got back from England – and hopes passels of British tourists will follow her back.
Sykes, the director of the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau, was part of a 50-member California delegation to a nine-day travel trade show outside London.
“That market is still very strong for us,” she said. “We´re seeing that the tour operators are still booking, and that the U.K, with the strength of their pound against our dollar, they’re already booking for ´03.”
Sykes says booking from the rest of Western Europe have dropped off a bit.
The show was aimed at tour operators who put together packaged trips for travelers.
