Debris Fires In The Motherlode Escaping Confines

Sponsored by:

A series of escaped Debris Burns in the Motherlode have consumed more than an acre of vegetation this weekend. An out of control debris burn took out an acre of brush on the 25 hundred block of Six Mile Road in Murphy’s Saturday. Emergency crews responded to a spot fire on the 12 thousand block of Appey Way in Jamestown Sunday morning. Another spot fire on a ranch at Clinton Road and Ferretti Road in Groveland escaped its confines just after 12:30 Sunday. Both fires were contained in under an hour.

Captain Danese Pimentel of CDF’s Dispatch Office says residents must be on guard when burning debris. She says vegetation has dried out since the recent storms and the wind and forecasted dry weather for the next week will only make debris burns more dangerous.
