San Francisco officials are crediting two alert street cops for the arrest of a man believed to have held up five Chinatown banks in the past month. Ricardo Ricafort of San Francisco was arrested yesterday as he emerged from the Stockton Street tunnel. A Bank of America branch nearby had just been robbed. Two officers cruising the neighborhood in a squad car spotted Ricafort shedding some of his clothes and recognized him from previous suspect photos. Officers A J Holder and Alane Baca made the arrest without incident. Police say the money taken was recovered. Now, investigators are looking into the possibility that Ricafort is responsible for four other holdups in the area between August 13th and August 29th. Ricafort was turned over to federal authorities and is being held without bail.
