Kaiser Contract Deal For California Nurses

Negotiators for 10 thousand California nurses have reached a tentative contract with health giant Kaiser Permanente. The deal bans mandatory overtime, improves pension and health benefits and boosts salaries by 26 percent over four years. Members of the California Nurses Association must approve the deal. Kaiser says it hopes the new deal will be a recruiting tool as California struggles with a nursing shortage.
