Summer Vacation´s End A Warm One

Sponsored by:

It´s the official last day of summer vacation. This Labor Day holiday is turning out to be a warm one in the Mother Lode, with high temperatures predicted to hit the century mark by afternoon. Cooler temperatures and light breezes will surely keep the last few vacationers at the high county lakes waiting until the very last minute to leave.

Labor Day meant hot temperatures in the Mother Lode. Much of California is still sweltering in a heat wave that´s been blamed for at least one death.

In Sonora, temperatures hit the 100 degrees. It was hot and breezy in the Mother Lode and central valley most of the day. Even temperatures in normally mild San Francisco were in the 80s by midday.
