Placerville Man Acquitted

A former Placerville police officer has been found innocent of financial elder abuse in Nevada County. Frank B. Santos Junior was accused of stealing funds from Florence Pena, who had given him power of attorney over her assets, and who had made him sole heir in her will. Santos, 27, has said he was only trying to help the Nevada City woman qualify for Medi-Cal by spending down her assets.
