Lawmakers Tour Tuolumne Forests

State legislators are traveling through Tuolumne County today and tomorrow as part of the Natural Resources Summit 2002 tour. Lawmakers from Sacramento will visit Pacific Ultra Power and the SPI lumber mill near Chinese Camp. They´ll also inspect the Pilot Fire site, and visit Yosemite Park.
Tomorrow they view the Crush Sale and the Mather Road thinning project to see timber harvesting techniques, and forest thinning for fuel breaks and fire protection.
