Budget Battle Rejoined
It´s back to the budget battle shortly for lawmakers. The Assembly takes up a package passed by the Senate again today, after failing to get the needed two-thirds majority last week.
Governor Gray Davis claims to have swayed two republicans to vote for the bill, which includes tax and fee increases to make up for a multi-billion dollar revenue shortfall. The rest of the GOP membership has signed a letter to Davis saying they´ll stick together against the legislation.
