Nesler Gets Six Years On Drug Charges

Sponsored by:

The vigilante mother who killed her son´s accused molester in court nine years ago is going to prison on drug charges.

Ellie Nesler was sentenced yesterday in Sonora to six years in prison. Nesler did not speak during her sentencing yesterday in Sonora. She pleaded guilty to the charges in June. Nesler will end up serving more time for the drug charge than she did for the 1993 courtroom slaying. She was sentenced to ten years for manslaughter, but the state Supreme Court threw out part of her conviction in 1997. Her story was made into a television movie.

Nesler said she wanted to fight the two felony drug charges, but didn´t think she could get a fair trial.

Investigators said Nesler gave .06 grams of methamphetamine to an informant in October, then bought 10,000 tablets from him five days later.
