CDF Firefighters Escape Injury In Crash

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne-Calaveras CDF firefighters escaped serious injury July fourth when an alleged drunk driver in Madera County hit their fire engine.

CDF Chief Fred McVey says none of the firefighters from the Groveland station were hurt, but their fire engine is a total loss.

The Jaws of Life had to be used to free the driver and passenger of the car that hit the fire truck. The occupants sustained major injuries.

The CDF Strike Team engine from Groveland was assigned to a fire near Raymond in Madera County.
