Vanderpool Handed Maximum Sentence
A registered sex offender from Calaveras County was given the maximum of 16 years in prison Monday for child molestation.
Sixty-four-year-old Leonard “Lucky” Vanderpool was convicted June 3rd of committing a lewd and lascivious act with a child.
Vanderpool already had a 1980 Calaveras County conviction for two counts of child molestation and served 6 months in jail and 5 years probation.
County District Attorney Jeffery Tuttle praised the job Sheriffs deputies did to bring a conviction in the case.
