Suspect Jailed In Jamestown Armed Robbery

Tuolumne County Deputies have a 22 year old Columbia man jailed, after a gunpoint robbery in Jamestown this weekend. Investigators say Timothy Joel Burton brandished a black handgun at the Yosemite Junction Gas Mart, and took three grocery bags full of cigarettes, 4 six packs of beer and money from the cash register.

Deputies chased down a car shortly after the incident when the driver tried to evade them. He took off on foot after stopping on Serpentine Road. Deputies went to Burton´s home on Sharon Road, following clues they found in the car. Burton was arrested after a brief foot chase.
