Marine Granted A New Trial
A California Marine serving a minimum 10-year sentence for raping a Nevada woman has been transferred to Air Station Miramar to await a new trial.
Lance Corporal Raymond Flores was convicted last fall of raping an unconscious woman in a Nevada motel back in 1999.
A Nevada judge granted the 23-year-old a new trial after a fellow Marine confessed to the crime.
Both men were in Nevada for training exercises at Nellis Air Force Base.
Even though Lance Corporal Ryan Fulton has confessed, prosecutors do not think Flores is innocent.
Prosecutor William Kephart says it´s likely both Marines raped the woman and says DNA evidence links Flores to the crime.
Meanwhile, Fulton has also been taken into custody at Miramar.
