Tipsy And Lucky In Santa Cruz
Police say a man who was drunk passed out on railroad tracks in Santa Cruz, and at least 12 rail cars passed over him, but he suffered only minor injuries.
Police said Timmy Baca Junior fell asleep on the tracks between the rails, and the rail cars passed only inches above him. Police Sergeant Rudy Escalante says Baca was hit by a dangling pipe, and his backpack was yanked off by a rail car.
Santa Cruz police say they responded to a call of a man being hit by a train and were astonished to find Baca yelling and moving around when they got there.
The transient in his 20s was being treated at a Santa Cruz hospital. He´s expected to be cited for public drunkenness.
