A Ventura Superior Court judge has sentenced a 44-year-old woman to death for killing three of her four sons as they slept. Eleven-year-old Joey, eight-year-old Michael and five-year-old Christopher were shot to death with a 38-caliber handgun.
Judge Donald Coleman handed down the death penalty Friday to Socorro “Cora´´ Caro of Santa Rosa Valley. He denied a defense motion for retrial.
In his ruling, Coleman emphasized the killings were premeditated and were deserving of execution.
