Yahoo! Gets Its Yodel

A cowboy yodeler has settled his copyright infringement suit against the Internet giant Yahoo!
Wylie Gustafson´s famous three-chord yodel has become a distinctive feature of the company´s ads. Gustafson was paid less than $600 for creating and singing the yodel in 1996.
In his suit, Gustafson claimed he thought he was just recording it for a regional spot. But when he heard it being used during the Super Bowl and other broadcasts, he decided to pursue more money.
The settlement allows Yahoo to continue to use Gustafson´s familiar yodel. Other settlement terms were not disclosed.
