Sponsored by:

More nails turned up today at an Orange County playground. Authorities say it´s the third time this week that sharp objects have been discovered in places where children could fall or step on them.

Orange County Sheriff´s spokesman Jim Amormino says maintenance workers at Beebe Park in Mission Viejo found a few nails this morning.

When metal detectors were brought in, a total of 17 nails were discovered in sawdust under playground equipment. The nails are similar to those found yesterday at a park in Laguna Niguel.

The sheriff´s spokesman says the nails found today were probably place there overnight. Beebe Park was scanned with a metal detectors yesterday as part of a check of more than 200 parks in Orange County.

No one has been reported injured by the nails or razors found at the playgrounds.Amormino says no tip has been received from the public concerning who might have planted the sharp objects. But he says, “I wish there was. Hopefully somebody will get tired of hearing of these acts, and come forward with information.”
