Control Burn Begins Today Along Highway 108

U-S Forest service crews will be conducting a light brush control burn through Friday, about 4 miles south of Longbarn. Travelers on Highway 108 between Twain Harte and Pine crest may see some smoke from the 300-acre project.
Crews expect to finish up before the weekend, and residual smoke should be minimal. The burn is part of a fuel reduction program intended to protect homes and businesses in the vicinity.
