Wilderness Plan Information To Draw Crowd At Supervisors

Sponsored by:

The Tuolumne County Supervisors chambers are expected to be filled to capacity this afternoon when the board hears a presentation on Senator Barbara Boxer´s proposed wilderness legislation.

Boxer´s plan would seek the addition of 2 point five million federal acres in California to be designated wilderness, including more than 50-thousand acres in the Stanislaus National Forest.

Critics of the plan say no one in Tuolumne County has been asked for input or comment in the drafting of the legislation.

The supervisors are scheduled to hear the presentation at 1:30 today.
