Davis Aide Quits In Oracle Flap

Another aide to Governor Davis has resigned as the administration continues its efforts to end the controversy surrounding a potentially costly computer contract. Vince Patel resigned as the governor´s interim director of e-government today only three and a half weeks after he was appointed to the post. Patel was appointed May 5th to succeed Arun Baheti, who was fired after he accepted a 25-thousand dollar campaign contribution for the governor from the Oracle Corporation. Administration officials say that violated a rule against the governor´s aides accepting campaign donations.
