Brief, New Darby Fire

Firefighters contained a new blaze off Darby Road in Calaveras County last evening. The blaze broke out shortly before 5:00 p.m. near Avery. Crews contained it to a single acre, and had finished work by about 7:30 last night. Last year some 14,000 acres burned, starting in the same area. The cause is under investigation.
