Parents Banned From Westerfield Trial

Sponsored by:

A judge has barred the parents of Danielle Van Dam from watching the trial of her accused killer. San Diego Superior Court Judge William Mudd ruled yesterday that the parents won´t be allowed to watch the trial in court because they are potential witnesses. He doesn´t want them to be influenced by other testimony. Their Sabre Springs neighbor, David Westerfield, is accused of kidnapping and killing their 7-year-old. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Jury selection ended yesterday and opening statements in the case begin Tuesday.
