Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with the death of a six-year-old neighbor found tied up in the suspect´s apartment. David Genong is believed to have fled before police discovered the body of Alexis Martinez. The boy never returned home from playing outside with friends yesterday. Alexis´ body was found in a bedroom of Genong´s apartment downstairs from where Alexis lived. A police dog tracked the boy´s scent there. Hayward Police Lieutenant Darryl McAllister says the cause of death is under investigation, but the boy´s body had been bound. McAllister says Genong was the only one at the apartment last night. The suspect is believed to be driving a friend´s 1997 gray Honda Civic.
