We Could Have A White Christmas

Sponsored by:

Put Bing Crosby on the CD player and another log on the fire. Residents of the Mother Lode could be in for a white Christmas.

The first in a series of Pacific storms approaches the region, bringing the prospect of heavy snow in the Sierra and the distinct possibility of a blanket of white over lower elevation areas come Christmas Day morning. A winter storm watch was posted for much of the Sierra crest, including the Lake Tahoe area, beginning Wednesday and continuing into Christmas Day.

Forecasters say the first punch could bring more than a foot of snow to the higher elevations and make traveling difficult over mountain passes.
