Bomb Threat At County Court House
A bomb threat has prompted a search at the old Tuolumne County Court house this morning and will close County buildings during the noon hour today.
Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Lt. John Steely says the bomb threat message was left on the Tuolumne County court´s voice mail overnight. The caller said a bomb would go off in the court house at noon today.
The Old Court House in downtown Sonora was searched and nothing suspicious found. Steely says the Court house, as well as adjacent county building — including the County Administration Buildings on South Green Street and West Yaney — will be closed at 11 a.m. this morning until at least 1:30 p.m. this afternoon to again conduct a search of the old structure.
Detectives are investigating. No suspects have been identified so far. Authorities ask that people stay out of the area during that time.
