Woman Charged In Copper Shooting Death

A woman is being charged with murder after a shooting in Copperopolis early this morning.

Calaveras County Sheriffs detectives say 55-year-old Dianna Andersen admitted to the shooting on the 59-hundred block of Chuckwagon Drive just before 1 this morning.

Detectives say a group of people, including the murder victim arrived at the residence and began to act aggressively towards a man at the home.

Authorities say Andersen allegedly got a gun and confronted the victim in the garage area of the duplex firing one shot. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Andersen, who authorities say has no permanent address, is being held in Calaveras County jail. The investigation continues.
