Shooting Suspects In Custody
The two men involved in yesterday´s shooting incident with a Bureau of Land Management ranger are now in custody.
Tuolumne County Sheriff Lt. John Steely says Groveland resident John James Heller was spotted and arrested by patrol deputies last night in Chinese camp.
The second suspect, William Donald Lutts also of Groveland, turned himself into authorities Tuesday. He is charged with attempted murder.
Steely tells us the BLM ranger had made a stop of the vehicle on Red Hills Road and was then shot at by the one individual. The suspects fled on foot in to the remote Red Hills area. Roadblocks were set up yesterday afternoon in that area.
