All five candidates running for the Tuolumne Utilities District board in the November 4th election gathered last night. Chamber president, George Segarini says the forum went well.
“I think the public had an opportunity to hear the candidates and their positions on the various issues,” Segarini said.
The chamber will review the candidates responses from last night´s debate and form their endorsements. “If we get a 3/4s vote of the chamber directors — that´s what´s required to support any candidate — if they garner that much support, then yes, we will be supporting that candidate,” Sagarini explained.
He said the chamber hope to have that position made within a week to ten days.
The five include two incumbents , Gary Walter and Dr. Ralph Retherford, and challengers Barbara Balen, James Castello and Jim Nuzum.
You can listen to the forum this afternoon on AM 1450 KVML at 12:30.
KVML will host a live candidates radio forum Oct. 28 starting at 12:30 p.m. that afternoon.
