Speaker Wesson to Step Down

Assembly Speaker Herb Wesson says he will step down as leader of the 80-member legislative body after the March 2004 primary election.
The Culver City Democrat made the announcement yesterday.
His term does not expire until December 2004, but four other Democrats have been vying to replace him.
