Emergency Landing at Columbia Airport

Sponsored by:

An single-engine amphibious aircraft made a belly landing at the Columbia Airport Sunday evening. No one on board the plane was hurt and the aircraft itself sustained only minor damage.

A C-D-F spokesman said the plane´s landing gear apparently retracted after the plane touched down around 5:30 Sunday evening. It happened as the plane was taxing down the north end of the runway. Firefighters helped push the disabled plane off the runway. The airport was closed for takeoffs and landings for about 45 minutes.
