Exciting local high school football action gets underway tonight in the Mother Lode.

Sonora High Wildcats kick off their home season opener against Johansen Vikings of Modesto at Dunlavy field.

Cat´s head coach Robert Cendro gives his outlook on the season. “We lost four starters from last year,” he reflects. “Give us a couple games and I think that line will come around like we want it to. The multi-talented skills kids that we have– and just have a bunch of them — we´ll see them really excelling on the field each game.”

He has a positive outlook on the season. “I told the kids, I mean, our goal starts right out at 10-0 and we´ll evaluate that as it goes.”

New this fall are live play-by-play radio broadcasts of the entire Bears football schedule. Hear the game tonight on radio station KKBN-FM starting with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.
