Pipe Bombing Suspect Waives Prelim Hearing
One of the men charged in a Rail Road Flat pipe bombing has waived his right to a preliminary hearing. That hearing for 32-year-old Roger Gibbings was slated for Tuesday in Calaveras County Superior Court.
The pipe bombing damaged a store and an elementary school in August of 2002.
Gibbings is being held on $60,000 bail at the Calaveras County Jail. Another hearing is scheduled for September 22. The decision not to have a preliminary hearing means Gibbings will now proceed to trial.
The other man charged in the bombing, Glynn McNabb of West Point, pleaded guilty to several charges. Back in April, McNabb was sentenced to 8 years in state prison.
