Sponsored by:

San Andreas Fire Chief Don Young, 48, was arrested Thursday and booked on two charges of molestation for incidents that allegedly took place in 1988.He was placed in the Calaveras County Jail with bail set at $50,000.

Calaveras County District Attorney Jeff Tuttle filed the complaint in Superior Court late Wednesday afternoon. It was awaiting a judge´s signature as of Thursday afternoon.

The charges of rape and forced oral copulation cover the time period of January 1988 to June 1988, according to Tuttle, and stem from accusations originally made in San Joaquin County.

The complainant, who is now 32, accused Young of sexual molestation when she was between the ages of 13 and 18 while she and Young were residents of San Joaquin County.
