Blackout Cancels Giants-Mets Game
The New York blackout has forced tonight´s game between the Giants and the Mets to be postponed. Baseball officials decided to cancel the game at New York´s Shea
Stadium after speaking with the police department and mayor´s office. The game was called just after 3 p.m. Pacific time. No makeup date has been announced. It was the final game of a three-game series, and the Giants´ last trip to New York this season.
After the game was called, the Giants waited outside the stadium for a bus. The team hasn´t decided whether to drive to Montreal or go to Philadelphia and fly from there.
Giants star Barry Bonds is not with the team. He returned to the Bay Area today to spend time with his ailing father.
