Sonora Man Arrested in Twain Harte Bombing

Authorities say an arrest has been made in connection with the Twain Harte pipe bombing. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Lt. John Steely said 24-year-old Dana Workman, of Sonora, was arrested after a traffic stop Monday night.

He says Workman’s Sonora residence contained evidence linking him to Friday’s blast. “Some explosive devices were found,” Steely said.

Workman was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for possession of the explosive devices, which Steely said included illegal fireworks, and will be charged in the pipe bombing in Twain Harte.

No one was injured in Friday’s blast at the Twain Harte Post Office. The bomb exploded in the parking lot, only causing some minor damage to the paint on the building.

Steely says even though this arrest has been made, the investigation continues.

Federal investigators say they don´t believe the Twain Harte bombing was connected to three other recent pipe bombings in Northern California, including last month’s explosion at the Calaveras County Government Center. The blast in San Andreas didn’t injure anyone, but it did knock a janitor off his feet. That investigation continues as well.
