Peterson Back In Court Today

Sponsored by:

The questioning of a defense expert today may explain why Mark Geragos wants evidence gathered from GPS tracking devices tossed out of Scott Peterson´s double murder trial.

Modesto police used the electronic surveillance devices to keep track of Peterson after his wife Laci disappeared.

Testimony about the reliability of the devices began last week, with Geragos trying to poke holes in the reliability of the devices. He also questioned the credentials of a prosecution witness.

Because GPS technology has yet to be tested in California´s criminal courts, prosecutors first must establish its reliability. Both the defense and prosecution are bound by gag orders, so neither side is talking about the tracking devices outside of court.
