Work continues this afternoon mopping up the large wildland fire off Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas. Fire crews, engines and aircraft will continue to be at the scene for at least the next few days.
CDF Tuolumne-Calaveras unit fire spokeswoman Beth Ruano says yesterday´s 150-acre blaze was started “by a spark from a riding lawn mower.”
She says full containment of the fire is expected by late this afternoon or early evening.
The fire is not a threat to surrounding homes at this time. At one time there were five air tankers, two helicopters, 13 hand crews, 16 fire engines and three dozers working the fire.
